STEFANOS AMOURGIANOS (Greece, Athens b. 1969 / act: Athens) |
Stefanos Amourgianos was born on 13 July 1969 in Athens, Greece. He studied business administration at the Athens University of Economics & Business (1986-1992). Eventually he turned to study art at the Accademia di Belle Arte di Lecce, Italy (1995-1996). He continued his studies at the School of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1996-2002) painting with Vangelis Dimitreas. He received a Master of Fine Arts in Painting at the Slade School of Fine Art, University College London (2006-2008). He received scholarships from the following institutions: Melina Mercouri Foundation (2002); and the State Scholarship Foundation - IKY (2005).Stefanos Amourgianos took part in the following group exhibitions: ASFA Alumni Association, Plaka, Athens (2001); School of Fine Arts, Belgrade, Serbia (2002); After the Postmodern, Freedom Park Art Center, Athens (2003); Zappeion Megaron , Athens (2004); MFA Interim Show, Slade Research Center, Woburn Square, London (2007); MFA Slade Degree Show, Slade School of Fine Art, London (2008); and After Abstraction: The End of the Painting Act?, Bonicos Gallery, Athens (2008).
Stefanos Amourgianos currently lives and works in Athens.
