CM: This is a portrait of Calliope Trapantzali-Levides (ca. 1870-1958), daughter of Alexander Trapantzallis and Celine Dietrich. She was a member of the Greek Theosophic Society and a friend of Madam Helen P. Blavatsky. Calliope became wife of George D. Levides (1857-1933). During her lifetime she produced textile designs for the Hellenic Welfare Organization.
