CM: Sofia Dede's Geraniums came into being when the artist was inspired by their site in the pots on the balcony of her office in Athens. Dede feels that Geraniums are gay flowers and it pleases her that - as plants - they demand more attention than others. Here, it is worth pointing out the focus on the bright red color of the flowers that she has chosen for the geraniums of her house. It is also interesting to observe the naturalness with which they stand upright, causing a sensation in the space they occupy without the intrusion of the pot or the urban background. Dede's paintings of flowers are characterized by a peculiar naïvety full of grace.
