Aliki Devletoglou was born on 22 October 1936 in Athens. She graduated from Pierce College in 1954 and was much influenced by her teacher in painting, Ellie Orfanos (b. 1922). She took painting lessons with Professor Umvertos Argyros (1952-1954), and the Florentine painter Armeno Mattioli (1954-1955). She studied at the Art Workshop of the Young Women's Christian Association - XEN (1974-1978) painting under Yanna Persaki, engraving under Maria Ziaka and art history under Maria Christofoglou. She has published privately three books which cover consecutive periods of her painting, with commentaries by known art historians - Chrysanthos Christou, Mary Michailidou, Athina Schina, Giuliano Serafini.
