Her face has been rendered in a way that portrays youth in all its glory, radiating hopeful dreams, optimistic ideas and romantic feelings. Her dreamy eyes - wet and misty - focus upon the viewer's gaze expressing absolute tenderness. Her garment - vaguely described - becomes one with the open background. The entire painting gives out a transparent quality in soft pastel tones, which emit a fresh and airy atmosphere. The face, executed - like all her works - in a scale larger than life, appears sweet and familiar. The Romantic betrays the painter's intention to reproduce things unhesitatingly with comfort and spontaneously with clarity.
