CM: Droungas represents still-life from a classical viewpoint. His art-style is best described as hyperrealistic (trompe-l'oeil). There is a post-modern feel of kitsch in the strong colour and in the factness of the props in his paintings. This pastel drawing was a present from the artist to Friar on the occasion of his birthday on 18 November 1986.
