Sophia Fotiadou was born on 23 October 1961 in Volos of Magnesia, Greece. She graduated from the Economic School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1979-1983) and the Pedagogical Department of Pre-school Education of the University of Thessaloniki (1984-1985). Parallel to her studies she was preoccupied with art history and painting. Subsequently she took summer courses at Slade School of Fine Arts in London (2005), followed by courses in portraiture and painting at Saint Martin's College of Art and Design (2005). The following people have reviewed her work: Mr Dimitris Delligiannis (Art History Professor at the University of Thessalia); Ms Faye Tzanetoulakou (Art Historian); Ms Chryssa Drandaki (Sociologist of Art) and Ms Athina Shina (Art Historian and Professor at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens).
