PAOLA GANDOLFI (Italy, Rome b. 1949 / act: Rome) |
Paola Gandolfi was born in 1949 in Rome, Italy. Although she is rightly classified in the pivotal group of the 'Anacronisti' (Anacronismo is an Italian postmodern art movement whose members reference classicism in a self-conscious and profoundly ironic way), its only female member, for many years her painting has expressed a completely unique language and is among the most original on the international scene. She has participated in numerous important personal and group exhibitions. Since 2001 her pursuits have also extended into sculpture.Paola Gandolfi continues to live and work in Rome.
