Andreas Golfinopoulos was born on 8 December 1943 in Lykoporia of Corinth, Greece. He studied first at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1965-1970) under Nikos Nikolaou and Yannis Moralis, and then at Middlesex University, London (1970-1973). He has held twenty-three personal exhibitions in Greece, Europe and USA. He has also participated in group exhibitions in Greece and abroad, winning various distinctions. During 1975-1977 he taught drawing and color at the Athens Technological Organization (Doxiadis), and to this day he teaches color at the Technological Educational Institute of Athens. He is Professor in the Department of Decorative Arts, at the School of Graphic Art and Design. His most importany commissions to date include: White Cypress Tree (1994), a sculpture 9.80m tall, at Sarandapihiotika, Corinth; Monument of Eternal Sacrifice and Love for Man (1998), a sculpture 6.90x46m, at Rozena, Corinth.
