ROULA KARAPANOU (Greece, Athens / act: Athens) |
Roula Karapanou was born in Athens, Greece. She studied drama in Greece and continued in Sorbonne , France with cinematographic research and photography. She has been working as a freelance professional photographer for the public sector receiving exhibitions in Greece , France and Belgium . Her work has appeared in both Greek and International photography magazines. She featured a permanent by-monthly article entitled The Anatomy of Photography in 'Opticon' magazine. She has also tought photography in the New Press School. Without ever having left the conjectural environment, she has also been involved in literature. The red nails has been has first book, followed by Standby and Mantis Religiosa which is a continuation of the first book.Roula Karapanou presented the following personal exhibitions: Image, Athens (1991); Athens City Hall, Athens (1993); Fygokentro, Athens (1994), and Skopelos, Skopelos Island (1995). She also took part in the following group exhibitions: Galery Dada, Athens (1992); Municipal Gallery of Kallithea, Athens (1993); Sani Resort, Halkidiki (1993).
Roula Karapanou continues to live and work in Athens.
