SYLVIA LAIOU (Greece, Athens b. 1972 / act: Athens) |
Sylvia Laiou was born on 20 April 1972 in Athens, Greece. She did her Foundation course at London Barnet School of Art in London (1990-1991). She studied fashion design and pattern cutting at London College of Fashion (1991-1994) and worked in the Fashion industry for several years. During this period she attended art history and life drawing courses until 2001, when she presented her first personal exhibition at Skoufa Gallery in Athens. She then enrolled at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design for a Master in Fine Arts (2001-2002). Since then she participated in several group exhibitions, such as Silent Dialogues: Multimedia Portraits Throughout Time, ACG Art Gallery, The American College of Greece, Athens (2008). In 2008 she had her second solo exhibition, again at Skoufa Gallery.Sylvia Laiou continues to live and work in Athens.
