CHRISTOS LAZARAKIS (Greece, Athens b. 1957 / act: Athens) |
Christos Lazarakis was born on 24 July 1957 in Athens, Greece. He received a scholarship to study at the Preparatory Vocational School of Fine Arts of Panormos, Tinos (1983-1986), sculpture with Yannis Maniatakis and painting with Yannis Gaïtis. He continued his studies with distinction at the Athens School of Fine Arts - ASFA Athens (1986-1991) sculpture with George Nikolaidis and Thodoros Papayiannis and stage design with Vassilis Vassiliadis. He has taken aprt at the following symposia: City of Konitsa (1995); University of Patras (1996); City Ioannina (1996); City of Patras (2002); Municipality of Agia Paraskevi (2004); Dionysus Community (2004); Piraeus Prefecture (2006). He has worked at the following educational institutions: Seminar on Marble Sculpture, Municipality of Kallithea (1993); Drawing and Plastic Arts, Vakalo School of Art and Design, Athens (1998-2000); Democritus Architecture School, Thrace (1999-2001).Christos Lazarakis presented the following personal exhibitions: Pleiades Gallery, Athens (1993); Multi-Space Mylos, Thessaloniki (1996); Gallery Kaplanon 5, Athens (2008). He also participated in the following group exhibitions: ASFA Students of Sculpture, European Cultural Center of Delphi, Delphi (1989); Youth Center, Athens (1991); ASFA Graduates, National Gallery - Alexandros Soutzos Museum, Athens (1991); International Center of Visual Arts Aenaon, Athens (1992); Tree, Pleiades Gallery, Athens (1993); 1 st Open-Air Exhibition: Association of Sculptors of Greece, National Garden, Athens (1994); 2nd Open-Air Exhibition: Association of Sculptors of Greece, National Garden, Athens (1995); Diagnostic and Therapeutic Health Center, Athens (1995); Microsculpture: Association of Sculptors of Greece, Flocart, Athens (1995); Association of Sculptors of Greece, Stoa tou Vivliou, Athens (1997); Therapeutic Health Center, Athens (2000); Association of Visual Artists of Mesogeia, Municipal Gallery, Pallini (2005); Vorres Museum, Paeania (2005); Gallery Kaplanon 5, Athens (2007).
Artworks by Christos Lazarakis are kept at the following institutions: The American College of Greece, Athens; Christos Moschandreou Gallery, Messolonghi; IASO, Athens; Hellenic Ministry of Culture, Athens; and Vorres Museum, Paeania.
Christos Lazarakis continues to live and work in Athens.
