STATHIS LIVANIS (Greece, Ithaca b. 1941 / act: Paris & Athens) |
Stathis Livanis was born on 24 December 1941 on Ithaca Island, Greece. He took painting courses with Thalia Flora-Karavia in 1965-1968. He studied drawing in the workshop of Hans Meyer in 1960-1962. He studied stage design at Stavrakos Hellenic Cinema & Television School in Athens (1965-1968) under Marios Angelopoulos.Stathis Livanis presented the following personal exhibitions: Setter Gallery, San Francisco, USA (1974); Michael Wood Gallery, Newport, England (1975); Syllogi Art Gallery, Athens (1979); Kreonidis Art Gallery, Athens (1982, 1984, 1996); Galerie 7, Athens (1987); Galerie Etienne de Causans, Paris (1992, 1995); Peintres et Sculpteurs Grecs en France, Maison de l'Europe, Paris (1994); Galerie Epsilon, Thessaloniki (1997); Atelier Napolitano, Paris (2001); Gavras Gallery, Athens (2002); Tritopia, Ikastikos Kyklos, Athens (2005); Pictures from a City, Ikastikos Kyklos, Athens (2010).
Artworks by Stathis Livanis are kept at the following institutions: The American College of Greece; Hellenic Ministry of Culture; Municipal Library of Athens; National Bank; and National Gallery - Alexandros Soutzos Museum.
Stathis Livanis is currently based in both Paris and Athens.
