Filippos Manos was born on 1 May 1959 to Greek parents in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and came to live in Greece in 1976. In 1978 he enrolled in the Department of Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1978). Later he studied in the Department of Visual and Applied Arts School of Aristotle University's Fine Arts School (1986-1991) painting in the workshop of Dimitris Kontos, from which he graduated with Honors. He received a distinction in the 1 st Cultural University Competition.
