VASILIKI MATTA (Greece, Thessaloniki b. 1979 / act: Thessaloniki) |
Vasiliki Matta was born on 11 February 1979 in Thessaloniki, Greece. She graduated from the 9th High School Thessaloniki in 1995. In 1996 she attended courses of academic painting in Thessaloniki. In 1997 was admitted at the École Supérieure d'Art et Design de Saint-Etienne - ESADSE and earned the National Diploma in Plastic Arts - DNAP (2000) and the Higher National Diploma in Visual Expression - DNSEP (2002). In 2003 submitted her postgraduate thesis entitled "The Place of Abstract Painting in Contemporary Art: Prompt or Outcome?".Vasiliki Matta took part in the following group exhibitions: Workshop, Biennale International de Design de la Ville de Saint-Etienne, France (2000); Peuple Mediterraneen, Ricamarie, France (2001); 100 Artists, Biennale International de Design de la Ville de Saint-Etienne, France (2002); 24 Heures, Galerie Comedie, Saint-Etienne, France (2003); L'Art dans la Ville, Old library of Saint-Etienne, France (2004); Dinner, Sports Museum of Thessaloniki (2007); Art + Nature: Environment - Action, Villa Kazouli, Athens (2008); Young Artists Workshop, 2nd Biennial of Contemporary Art, Thessaloniki (2008).
Vasiliki Matta continues to live and work in Thessaloniki.
