Pavlos Moschidis was born in 1927 in Kavala, Northern Greece. He took his first art lessons under Polykleitos Rengos in Thessaloniki. He continued his studies at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, Paris, under Maurice Brianchon. Subsequently he studied at the École Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, Paris, under Félix Labisse. He also studied at the Istituto Statale d'Arte per il Mosaico, Ravenna, under Gino Severini. Later in his life he also studied Tibetan iconography. From 1960 through 1971 he taught drawing at the Vakalo School of Athens.
