ELLIE ORFANOS (Greece, Piraeus b. 1922 / act: Athens) |
Ellie Orfanos was born to Ioannis and Ekaterini in 1922 in Piraeus, Greece. She was married to Lambros Orfanos who was himself a painter. She received her diploma in painting in 1946. From 1946 to 1955 she taught art at The American College of Greece. She went on to study at the École Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris between 1952 and 1955. During this time she also took course at the the École Superieure des Mosaïques in Ravenna. Ellie Orfanos became known as a painter with an expertise on the technique of mosaics.[Megakles 05/2006]
