CM: "The School of Athens" is one of the most famous artworks of the Italian Renaissance, painted by Raphael between 1510-1511 in the Apostolic Palace in the Vatican, Rome. The present print was engraved after the painting by Raphael by Albert Henry Payne for A Pictorial History of the World's Great Nations by Charlotte M. Yonge, published by Selmar Hess, New York in 1882.
