Margarita Petrova was born on 14 October 1979 in Athens, Greece. She studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts - ASFA painting under Yannis Psychopedis (1999-2005); Byzantine hagiography under Sozos Giannoudis (2001-2002); Stage Design under George Ziakas (2003-2004). She pursued Post Graduate Studies at the same School in painting, under Tassos Christakis (2006-2008).Margarita Petrova took part in the following group exhibitions: ASFA Students: Artistic Approaches in Cinema, Patras State Hospital, Patras & Byzantine Museum, Athens (2004); Depicting Animals, Astrolavos Dexameni Art Gallery, Athens (2005); A.S.F.A. Graduates Show, Factory - Nikos Kessanlis, Athens (2006); Young Artists, Astrolavos Artlife Art Gallery, Athens (2007); and Art Athina, Astrolavos Gallery, Helexpo, Athens (2007); and Silent Dialogues: Multimedia Portraits Throughout Time, ACG Art Gallery, The American College of Greece, Athens (2008).
Margarita Petrova continues to live and work in Athens.
