ALKIS PIERRAKOS (Greece, Thessaloniki b. 1920 / act: Paris) |
Alkis Pierrakos was born in 1920 in Thessaloniki, Greece. He studied painting at the Gewerbeschule, Basel (1948-1950) and the Slade School of Fine Art, London (1951-1953). He had his first personal exhibition at Cambridge in 1954. That same year he settled in Paris, where he became member of the group "La Ligne et le Signe". His work is characterized by the personal lyric style which he has created in the frame of abstract expressionism.Alkis Pierrakos currently lives and works in Paris.
