KRISTINA RISTIC (Serbia, Belgrade b. 1973 / act: Athens)

Kristina Ristic Kristina Ristić was born on 18 December 1973 in Belgrade, Serbia. She studied at the School for Industrial Design, Belgrade (1988-1990). In 1989 she attended the summer program of the New York Student Art League, New York. She furhered her studies in painting at Fakultet Likovnih Umetnosti - FLU, Belgrade (1995-2000). She worked as an associate researcher on fresco restoration, at the Institute for History of Art of the University of Belgrade (1997-2000). The art of Kristina Ristić is dominated by figural motifs evolving towards abstraction. Her work is characterized by the overlapping of the drawing and the painted surface, by intensive colors overlaid with powerful and subtle strokes that produce rhythmical liveliness.

Kristina Ristić has received the following awards: Award for Small Drawing, Vera & Petar Lubarda Foundation (1991); Award for Painting, Beta & Rista Vukanovic Foundation (1995); Award for Painting at the 39th Winter Salon, Herceg Novi, Montenegro (2006); 3rd Award, The Fine Art Competition by Philip Morris International Niš Art Foundation (2007); 1st Award at the Fine Art Competition, Philip Morris International Niš Art Foundation (2008).

Since 1996 Kristina Ristić is a member of Udruzenje Likovnih Umetnika Srbije (Association of Fine Artists of Serbia) - ULUS. She currently lives and works in Athens.
