Stefanos Rokos was born in Athens in 1977. He took his first classes on drawing, color and the History of Art with Kyriakos Rokos, Roubina Sarelakou and Yiannis Papaioannou, and later at Nikos Stefos' workshop. He studied painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts in the workshop of Triantafyllos Patraskidis (1995-2000). At the same time, he attended printmaking classes in the workshop of George Milios. He attended lithography classes at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris under Michel Potier, within the Erasmus European Community Program (1999). He earned the degree of Master of Arts in Print at the Wimbledon School of Art in London (2001-2002).
Stefanos Rokos received the following awards: First Prize for Printmaking in the 3rd Meeting of New Artists organised by the School of Art & Design Vakalo (2000); The TN Lawrence Materials Prize, National Print Exhibition, the Mall Galleries, London (2002); Award by the State Scholarships Foundation for the 1999-2000 Senior Year in the Athens School of Fine Arts (2002). In 2000 one of his prints was selected after a competition for the Athens International Airport - Eleftherios Venizelos. He received scholarships by the following institutions: Propontis Foundation for a Master's Degree in Fine Arts (2001); State Scholarships Foundation for the production of artistic work (2005).
Stefanos Rokos has received the following personal exhibitions: Gallery of the School of Art & Design Vakalo, Athens (2000); Agathi Art Gallery, Athens (2001); Art Gallery Amymoni, Ioannina (2002); Noise and Useful Objects, Agathi Art Gallery, Athens (2005); Art Gallery Giomisti Kefali, Sifnos Island (2006); Art Athina #7: After Dinner, Agathi Art Gallery, Helexpo, Athens (2007). He has also participated in the following group exhibitions: A Walk through the Galleries at Agathi Art Gallery, Athens (2004).
Stefanos Rokos has made the following CD covers: Interstellar Overdrive (2000); Surface B, Interstellar Overdrive (2003); Sixteen Haiku and Other Stories (2002); Sigmatropic (2002); Ekso for Foivos Delivorias (2007); Erotas Arhaggelos for Christos Leontis (2007); and Leave Alight for Krista L.L. Muir (2007). He has made the following posters: Incompleteness, a short film by Harry Lagousis (2002), The Trial, a theatre production directed by Giorgos Kimoulis (2004); and Line, a theater production directed by Dimitris Kadiotis (2007). He has also made drawings for the release of Nikos Nikolaidis' films in DVD (2000) and for the following books: Feggaria Allis Gis, Taxideftis Editions (2005); Asinehi Kimena for 25 Contemporary Greek Authors, Mandragoras Editions (2007). Since 2002, he is a member of 'Kormoranos', a non-profit company involved in the field of cultural events.
Stefanos Rokos currently continues to live and work in Athens.
