DIMITRIS SAKELLION (Greece, Volos b. 1949 / act: Athens)

Dimitris Sakellion Dimitris Sakellion was born on 20 October 1949 in Volos, Greece. He studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1965-1970). He furthered his studies in painting at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris (1973-1977) with a scholarship from ASFA. Since 1998 he teaches painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts.

Dimitris Sakellion has presented the following personal exhibitions: Syllogi Gallery, Athens (1978); Medusa Art Gallery, Athens (1981); Gallerie Artes, Amsterdam (1982); Galerie Culturchepen, Rotterdam (1982); Artio Gallery, Athens (1986, 1988); and Ileana Tounta Contemporary Art Center, Athens (1990); Sakellion: Alien Light of Darkness that Surrounds the Earth 1990-1997, Pierides Gallery, Glyfada (1998); Memory Pictures, Alatza Imaret Cami, Thessaloniki (1998). Dimitris Sakellion currently lives and works in Athens.
