ANDREAS SCHINAS (Greece, Nikea b. 1950 / act: Athens) |
Andreas Schinas was born on 25 November 1950 in Nikea of Piraeus, Greece. He studied architectural design and while working in this field became acquainted with photography initially as an amateur. He worked with photography more methodically and professionally since 1987, starting courses at the Photographic Circle, with Platon Rivellis. He currently works as manager of the Photography Circle's dark room and as an independent photographer.Andreas Schinas presented the following personal exhibitions: Institute Français, Thessaloniki (1993); Photography Circle Gallery, Thessaloniki (1996); Photographic Center, Skopelos (1997); Diavassi Cultural Center, Athens (1999); and Photography Circle Gallery, Athens (1999). He has also took part in the following group exhibitions: Photography Circle, Strasbourg (1989); Photography Circle, Montreal (1989); International Month of Photography, Athens (1989); Photography Circle, Eleftheria Park Art Center, Athens (1990, 1994); Booze Cooperativa, Athens (1991); Patras (1992); Mylos, Thessaloniki (1993, 1994); 10 Years Photography Circle, House of Cyprus, Athens (1998);Summer Seminar, Syros (2000); and Syros Summer Seminar, Diavassi Cultural Center, Athens (2000). Photohoros Editions has released the following albums by Andreas Schinas: Neighbourhood (1992); Wedding Day (1998); and Photographs (2011).
Andreas Schinas lives and works in Athens.
