Dimitris Skourogiannis was born on 21 February 1973 in Athens, Greece. He joined the Archaeological Society in Athens (1991-1992) to follow courses in art history with Chryssanthos Christou, and theater theory with Marios Ploritis, Costas Evangelatos, Eleni Varopoulou and Costas Georgoussopoulos. He studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts - ASFA (1996-2002) painting with Demosthenes Kokkinides and Triantafillos Patraskides; stage and costume design with George Ziakas; mosaic with Daphne Angelidou; and sculpture with George Houliaras (2003-2005). He was honored with an undergraduate scholarship of high performance during the whole period of his studies at ASFA and graduated with full marks. He also served the aid of the State Scholarship Foundation for Sculpture (2003-2005). He went on to study design-space-culture at the National Technical University of Athens - NTUA (2002-2004) with Helen Tatla.
