SOFIA TOUBOURA (Greece, Thessaloniki b. 1977 / act: Athens) |
Sofia Touboura was born on 8 November 1977 in Thessaloniki, Greece. She received a Bachelor of Social Anthropology and Social Policy (1995-2002) and Masters Degree of Sociology (2002) at Panteion University of Social and Political Studies, Athens. She changed the course of her studies by enrolling at the Athenian Artistic & Technological Group - AKTO (1996) painting with Nikos Navridis. She furthered her studies at the Art School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2002) with Makis Theofylaktopoulos, and continued her studies at the Athens School of Fine Arts - ASFA (2008) with Yannis Psychopedis. In 2006 she attended the master class for digital documentary production "From the Idea to the Image" by Peter Wintonick in the 8 th International Documentary Festival of Thessaloniki.Sofia Touboura took part in the following group exhibitions: Video Art Festival, Athens School of Fine Arts, Athens (2005); Digital Freaks Install the Noise, Technopolis, Athens (2006); International Documentary Festival, Thessaloniki (2006); International Short Films Festival, Naoussa (2007); Student Biennial, Athens / Heraklion, Creta (2008); ASFA Degree Show, Athens School of Fine Arts (2008); Diaries of Fire, Melina Mercouri Cultural Center, Athens (2008); Cheapart, a.antonopoulou.art, Athens (2008); Urban Approaches, Athens (2009); Cheapart, Mylos, Thessaloniki (2009); Action Field Kodra, Thessaloniki (2009); and The Open Mind of Lafcadio Hearn, ACG Art Gallery, The American College of Greece, Athens (2009).
Sofia Touboura currently lives and works in Athens.
