CM: This etching is the fifth of a series of ten. It represents the trunk of a tree on a first plane, and a heap of chopped logs on the left side of the background. The perception of the picture is intentionaly difficult to read. The two planes are symbolic of the life/death dichotomy. In the knowledge that any born organism is condemned to die, this work is celebratory of life's balance.
