I. ACG ART
The American College of Greece has a rich and varied history that started in 1875, and the ACG Art Collection has been forming since that time. ACG Art is the newly established collection & exhibition department of The American College of Greece, which came into being with the establishment of the Art Curator position in 2004. The special holdings and displays of ACG's Art Gallery, Chapel, Treasury, and Museum, form the core that gives ACG Art its historical and cultural breadth. ACG Art's office is at the College's Center for the Arts, which houses galleries for temporary exhibitions and studios for visiting artists.

II. MISSION
The primary aim of ACG Art is to hold exhibitions and events of the visual arts that highlight multifarious expressions of contemporary culture, whose qualities yield lessons in education. The goal of ACG Art is to foster interest in the existing holdings, and to view these in relation to other artworks commissioned or loaned. With a basic focus on artists of Hellenic origin, ACG Art exhibitions and events celebrate moments or themes in art throughout time, and provide a platform for emerging artists and trends. The motto of ACG Art is to communicate the visual arts to all: the College community; the scholarly researcher, and; the public at large. To accomplish this mission ACG Art:

1. Collects and preserves artworks that are significant to the life of the College.
2. Produces exhibits and public outreach programs related to art that are rooted in the areas of endeavor with which the College is engaged.
3. Provides a research and educational resource for both the College and the larger community.
4. Engages members of the College community in art events and activities and provides facilities where they can meet and work together.

III. ACG ART COLLECTION
The ACG Art Collection has unique holdings in original art in every visual form, including the following: architecture; artefact; ceramic; drawing; furniture; icon, installation; instrument; mixed media; numismatics; painting; photography; printmaking; ready-made; real life; relief; sculpture; textile; and video. The ACG Art Collection is particularly strong in artworks originating in Greece, but also keeps works from other countries. All that constitutes the ACG Art Collection derives from ACG's own archive, acquisitions, and benefactions (donations, gifts and bequests). The holdings and displays of art at the ACG Art Gallery, Chapel, Treasury, Museum, and elsewhere on campus, form the core that gives ACG Art Collection its historical and cultural breadth. The Alexander Kalovidouris Collection, the Kimon Friar Bequest, the gift of Gérard Haas, and the holdings of works by Takis, make for a collection of international renown, worth world-wide dissemination.

IV. ACG ART REVIEW COMMITTEE
The ACG Art Review Committee, comprising of five art-related members from the College Community (ACG Art Curator; Dean of Arts & Sciences; Executive Director of Development; Manager of Operations; Instructor at Pierce College's Fine Arts Department), is formed to review all non-curricular matters concerning ACG Art (Collection & Website) in support of the College's commitment to the fine arts. This Committee meets as needed to (a) review and evaluate potential donations and purchases of art to be added to the ACG Art Collection; (b) review proposed exhibitions of art associated with the College; (c) make recommendations to the President on all issues concerning ACG Art, and (d) help with the ACG Art Program (Curatorial Program, Visiting Artists Program, and Artist-in-Residence Program).

1) Curatorial Program The Curatorial Program hosts approximately four exhibitions of in-focus displays each year in key aspects of visual culture. The Mission of the Curatorial Program is to place ACG Art's own artworks alongside other artworks on loan in the context of ideas or themes of contemporary significance.

2) Visiting Artists Program The Visiting Artists Program hosts approximately twelve public presentations by artists each year in lectures, symposia, performances and screenings. It is a decidedly eclectic program that showcases artists working in all media, including sound, video, performance, poetry, painting, and independent film, in addition to curators, critics, and art historians. The primary mission of the Visiting Artists Program is to educate and foster a greater understanding and appreciation of art through discourse. The ACG Art Curator plans up to four theme-based lecture series per academic year and hosts visiting artists on a monthly basis. The Visiting Artists Program is at the forefront of the movement towards a theoretically informed aesthetic dialogue. All events are open to the general public. Unless otherwise noted, lectures begin at 19:00 at the ACG Art Center Auditorium.

3) Artist-in-Residence Program The Artist-in-Residence Program aims to support and enhance the creativity of selected or applicant artists by providing them with uninterrupted time for work, reflection, and collegial interaction in a setting of inter-disciplinary and trans-cultural exchange. Through the Artist-in-Residence Program, artists from all over the world spend two weeks to one month living and working in excellent facilities located on the Aghia Paraskevi Campus. The Program offers dedicated individuals a supportive environment in which to create and present their work. Candidates should submit to the ACG Art Curator a personal statement explaining their interest in a Residency at ACG, including their future goals, expectations from the Program, and any other information they feel best represents them.
