ACG ART COLLECTION
ACG Art has unique holdings of original artworks in various forms, including drawing; furniture; textiles; installation; mixed-media; painting; photography; printmaking; sculpture; and video. Additionally, the collection covers artworks by noted international artists. The following names stand out:
Kimon Friar,
Ghika,
Gérard Haas, and
Takis. The artworks have derived from ACG's own archive, acquisitions, and benefactions (donations, gifts, and bequests). Artworks from the ACG Art collection are placed in various sites of the campus: the foyer at Pierce Theater keeps the
Presidential Portraits,
Archives and the
Alexander Kalovidouris Collection are housed in the
ACG Museum, icons and ecclesiastical relics are held at the
ACG Treasury, the
ACG Chapel of
The Three Hierarchs is graced with icons and frescoes by acclaimed hagiographer
John Karoussos,
Saint Francis of Assisi by
Frances Rich adorns the hillside nearby the Chapel.
The Cyclist by
Vassiliki is placed at the atrium of Pierce College, sculptures by
Takis are displayed at various sites of the campus. The placing of artworks anywhere on campus is by no means permanent. The display is intended to rotate in order to give the opportunity to all artworks in ACG Art collection to be seen in an wide variety of contexts.
